hello folks

ive been rocking my thinkpad 460s since 2018 or so, but ive just recently yolo purchased a chunky t420 for 80€. I gotta say this is the best laptop ive ever used, keyboard/io is unmatched and it still runs super snappy on omarchy right now, even with only 4 gigs of ram :D AND this thing has a cd drive!

its sad that newer models gradually lose features and quality... I love Thinkpads, but I cannot imagine myself using one 10 years from now...

yea its insane to me how feature rich these old business machines were, nowadays every laptop just looks the same and kinda sucks. if you have the money and still love the old formfactor, you can consider upgrading to an aftermarket board: www.tpart.net/about-x210ai/

Finished watching Titanic with kids. One of the best movies ever.

Hacker News, Textlog... what other websites should I be visiting each day?

maybe?

Sharing a great read today: Some of the takes are on the extreme end, but like most IT decisions, you can dial the pain to exactly what you want. ^C

textlog runs on a 2.5€/mo vps 1 core/2gb ram, using just one instance of Bun with its embedded SQLite. Works perfect and I run a few other apps as well on that machine.

It is quite amazing what you can run in those small VPSes if you just build with them in mind.

Yeah, it survived being on 1st page of HN for a day just fine! Snappy, didn't sweat at all.

…

Why does it have such a cute name 😭😭😭

prussia's emoticon is so cute! (=ヮ≖)

This fruit is rotten. It looks so ripe and juicy but if you bite it you will see: this fruit is rotten.

Today I wanted to share some Music from my youth :) www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Hn-pNxtByM

I very much like textlog, it feels like a breath of fresh air

feel the same!

tysm! welcome!

buit a keyboard driven calendar webapp right now cause im disappointed with all tho other solutions i could find. no dependencies, super customizable, im kind of obsessed. for the first time in my life im actually keeping my calendar alive.

Something you’re willing to share in any capacity? I’ve felt like calendar apps are one of the most poorly-solved areas.

i actually just shipped it lol: let me know what you think if you set it up! I really like the cursor for navigation.

I wonder If I can just rant here?

Feel free.

Nice username. It could be worth a lot someday. 😊

Any users around? I have been customizing it to the way I work, as it is meant to be. Bent it in a way that I enjoy holding it, so to say. Maybe someone will find those useful, so I took the time to get it published. Gruntfooot is a footer customization, where you can try new colors/glyphs in real time and also has theme support.

Piflux is a coding workflow. You can steer software development by running commands that issue reasonably general prompts. /plan, /code, /review I created this because I find it very useful to have different models/ perform each of those tasks in isolated sessions. Managing this manually was very much a hassle.

OK. I've translated the (correctness) requirements of LeetCode No.22 to Lean, and ask Claude Code to both implement a solution and prove it.

In the first attempt, Opus 4.7 successfully completed it and proved it. However, the solution is to enumerate all possible space and .filter out anything that doesn't qualify my definition, which is obviously not ideal (if cheating is too harsh).

I can't think of a good way to also prevent that kind of solutions and ended up prompting "please don't enumerate and filter". Opus 4.7 then reimplemented and proved the backtracking algorithm.

Dear alerts-that-interrupt-the-restarting-of-my-computer: haha the harassment filters in this site won't let me post what I think of thee

cool platform. found you on ycombinator.

welcome!

Never realized how much slow builds kill morale until I have to do multiple back to back 😔

Nobody is complaining to me because I think they know they will be "voluntold" if they speak up 🤣🤣🤣

Spent months pair-building a full telecom BSS with an AI. The surprise wasn't the code — it was that the real job became verification. The AI read 450 tokens for every 1 it wrote. Turns out building honestly is mostly re-reading.
