I am trying to learn emacs for the fun of it. The tutorial is brilliant and clear. Any tips that would help me learning more things. I know all I need is practice but if you may have used it, you may know a thing or two.
I’m ambivert. When I spend time outdoors and with people I want to keep doing that, I become very extrovert. Can’t code in that mode. It’s hard to switch back to introvert but when that happens time flies really quick. A month can pass and it feels like a week.
I’ve had quite the successful day cooking today: make a Dutch baby for breakfast with blueberries, a bean stew for lunch using up all the week’s odds and ends, make a coffee and walnut cake, and barbecued/slightly smoked a whole spatchcocked chicken for the first time!

Installed Hermes Desktop and starting to build out my team of bots. My experience with Hermes so far has been great: it keeps surprising me by being what i need it to be ... but I'll reserve a final judgement until after a proper period of use.
Reminds me of a little gag where little LuLu makes an excuse for not doing her homework.
Homework? I thought you said housework. I spent all night vacuuming.
Hello! Is anyone else trying local AI? Im dont know what im doing but lately ive been trying "Llama 3,2 3b instruct q5km" on my phone and its been surprisingly good. #ainotesfollow
i think the best you can get right now is qwen 3.8 27B. youre gonna need 24 gigs of some fast memory though, i heard theres decent quantizations that can also make it run on 16. im quite excited about open/local models, but theres big investment overhead with the prices right now
You might be able to try out colibri, its quite good and the models are a bit better. I am unable to connect any of the cli agents to do things with it though, probably due to context limits, but try it out. OlMoe is the lightest
A bit of insomnia this early Tuesday morning. I call it “the witching hour”, whatever can go wrong, will go wrong and the brain is defenceless. Reality, of course, is more nuanced, but brain doesn’t care. :)
shower thought: swap 'is a model' for 'is constructed' and postmodernism suddenly becomes a lot more palatable without losing much of its core message. #philosophynotesfollow
Well said. My post was glib.
More correctly, they are multipliers. Same goes for Musk.
"Musk’s ex-wife Justine, whom he married in 2000 and divorced in 2008, says the man the world began to see in 2020 was the one she’d always known." -slate.com
