Yeah I’ve thought about it and the best solution was to simply manually moderate usernames when we see them, instead of trying to predict every possible problematic one.

Not documented yeah, they’re limited to 5. I’ll raise them to 10 on the next deploy so leave it as it is and it will fix.

NBD, having the soft limit is smart to minimize/prevent hashtag spam. A notice after posting saying the first N are rendered would all that be needed. I wouldn't make it a hard-limit preventing posting and create friction.
