For sure. We're well past the point of being able to reasonably claim that the tools have no practical use.
But I share the article's skepticism that LLM-based AI will "produce a fully automated drop-in replacement for most knowledge workers". Which it at this point has to in order to justify these companies' stupendous valuations.
Tomorrow no but there will always be the โhopeโ which is enough for the next 20 years before giving up. Which meanwhile would be replacing larger and larger chunks of the workforce so it wonโt really matter, weโll be adjusting our lives around it as well so we meet in the middle.
Tesla has been overvalued for over a decade with the promise of โfully autonomous carsโ and itโs still not losing its value, despite not meeting that (and probably never will, as the computation necessary to achieve it is bounded by physics).

Another surprise from Windows 11: in addition to the fact that its interface is much more annoying than Windows 10's, I now supposedly have to wait 10 days for the previous system to delete itself from the computer

With deep respect we remember King Harald of Norway who passed away in the early hours of this morning. May his memory rest in peace. Our thoughts are with those who have lost a husband, those who have lost a father and father-in-law, children who have lost a grandfather. And an entire country that has lost a king. ive been rocking my thinkpad 460s since 2018 or so, but ive just recently yolo purchased a chunky t420 for 80โฌ. I gotta say this is the best laptop ive ever used, keyboard/io is unmatched and it still runs super snappy on omarchy right now, even with only 4 gigs of ram :D AND this thing has a cd drive!
