"200K lines is not 10 times as much as 20K lines - from the mission perspective it's just irrelevant. And yet it's the easiest thing to measure. And so we look for the keys under the lamp post." ~Kent Beck

Med dyp respekt minnes vi kong Harald av Norge som gikk bort i morgentimene i dag. Fred over hans minne. Vรฅre tanker er hos den som har mistet en mann, de som har mistet en far og svigerfar, barn som har mistet en bestefar. Og et helt land som har mistet en konge. Mรฅ Gud styrke han som fรธlger etter.
With deep respect we remember King Harald of Norway who passed away in the early hours of this morning. May his memory rest in peace. Our thoughts are with those who have lost a husband, those who have lost a father and father-in-law, children who have lost a grandfather. And an entire country that has lost a king. May God strengthen those who follow.
I needed to process 20,000 json files & 20,000 JXL files. I'm pulling together a website from them all. Anyway, started with emacs elisp to handle it all, just because I've not done that before. Went kinda ok, and I'm gonna use org-mode to export it all to a website (done that bit loads of times before).
In the end, I ended up breaking out my C programming skills (late 80s->nowish). It was a delight. Nothing more refreshing than writing raw code, that doesn't rely on 3rd party code/libs.

#meta tag โ use it whenever you want to talk about the site itself, and these posts will not show up in all, any or the postโs page. Only those that follow the tag or the person will see these posts in my feed or in post pages. This is to keep the site clear of meta discussions which dominated a lot at this early stage and I think were annoying to many people. So this is the last meta without the #meta tag youโll see unless u follow. Iโll try to tag every post I find.I gotta confess, I vibe codet a Kirigami-based application and I liked it. I am a anti AI person, and cannot wait for the bubble to burst. Yet I see it can empower people that do not know a tech stack, and get good enough results out of it. However i also see, it makes you lazy (and frustrates as soon as it gets somewhat complicated). It seems it is being adopted everywhere. This is scary... if it becomes necessary, will you be able to find a job where they don't require you to use AI?
only when the bullied attacks the bully, it's when the teacher intervenes
I have a theory that it's because they fear the weaker one that has been suffering and bottling emotions for days, weeks, or even months. once it's unbottled, the bullied won't stop until they're sure they won't be bullied again, and that could be bad... for the school and the teacher.
