There are days llms impress, and days they don’t. I debugged an issue with Astra and it said it had no idea what’s going on and need to ask me before taking serious actions. Me adding “-f” to a mv and problem solved. So today I was not impressed.

I truly love the experience of using apps with rich, deeply interactive, beautifully animated, gorgeous user interfaces. Then I see a beautiful text-based interface and something about it feels so natural, so inevitable, so perfectly clear, and I'm instantly captivated by its simplicity and clarity. Hypertext is fascinating.

Spent months pair-building a full telecom BSS with an AI. The surprise wasn't the code — it was that the real job became verification. The AI read 450 tokens for every 1 it wrote. Turns out building honestly is mostly re-reading. #opensourcebssnotesfollow

With each passing workday I spend agentsitting, my ability to program in isolation atrophies. This might be dismissed as needless self-serving anxiety, but perhaps irrationally, I can't let it go.

A lot of people write so much software to sandbox their AI agents. I say don't bother. Just give your agent its own non-admin local user account. It's easier and much more effective.
