The machine I use textlog on didn't have a functioning display due to the xlibre drama. It's over and I'm back now!

Was not aware that there had been any xlibre drama. What's the story there?

Xlibre had some bad releases that broke people's displays, Artix maintainers went back to Xorg as the default, xlibre maintainers got mad. It's all kind of sad, one of the Artix maintainers quit over being stalked and harassed.

Drama indeed. It's all X.org here as there's no reason not to for me. Anyway, glad you have your display back.

Finally got my 3d printer setup for the first time since moving back onto the land. Man I love Prusa. Their stuff just works.

A lot of people write so much software to sandbox their AI agents. I say don't bother. Just give your agent its own non-admin local user account. It's easier and much more effective.

I give my AI Full-Access. :p

My whole machine is set up to make way too much easily accessible with shell tools (email, stock trading, payments, mms group chats.) I can't trust it.

hacks into @swiley's machine, pulls all funds :p

replied to:

So it has full access to textlog!? ;)

replied to:

Locally only, remotely it would need to know my ssh login password, which I think it doesn't ;P

replied to:

I can’t trust it enough to give local access as well! Having a hard time to let go of control.

I've written a small persistent agent wrapper for agent.py. I'm impressed with how well it works. I feel like a CEO issuing global memos to all my agents after reading their status reports.

After running them for a weekend and spending $2 on openrouter I've put the wrapper script at public.swiley.net/agents.sh

I really needed a quiet microblog. This looks like exactly what I'm looking for.

Same. I really wish this platform would last a long time... I've seen so many cool initiatives get posted on HN, only to be taken offline a few months later.
