Right now all of it counts against the limit because the textarea has a hard character limit and there is no way without using JS to change this.
curious if you intend the URL to count for the character limit, or only the link text?

How long before browser extensions appear to add interactivity? I struggle to remember handles to reply or exact hash-tags. No js is very limiting, let’s see when you give up ;-)
