there is a certain kind of anxiety karma points and like counts cause me that i can't really put my finger on it - something near the stomach - which is why this site has none of that and plan to remain that way.

im noticing something similar after adding #tlog63 notes17 followersenter to follow to my #RSS1 note0 followersenter to follow feed. I much prefer the idea of simply logging occasionally, posting something, checking for replies, and then logging out. The notification feels out of place with the entire concept of this place

which notification? the activity dot? you think it's out of place? i'm a bit torn about that also. but how else, otherwise you'd develop the habit of having to open the activity page to see if someone responded.
