I just watched the 2025 Companion, and if it's intelligently made and has a decent feminist message, the setting made me wish that instead the focus had been on loving what you're not sure is even sentient, living with made up yet precious memories, and strange human/machine partnerships. Not really a critique, just a reaction from what got my imagination going.
