Longer answer: My editor does not start wars. I use whatever is convenient. Most of the time I am on visual studio code but I'll use anything. Well, anything except emacs I guess. I don't think I have ever actually used emacs.

Really glad to be using Haskell for work - especially in today's climate with agentic coding. Our team uses containers to keep our development environment consistent across team members, though, and most agent sandbox approaches want to either offload your work fully to the cloud or they want to sandbox the agent harness process itself. We're not ready for full cloud based development (yet?) and sandboxing just the agent doesn't work for us when the agent needs to run docker. #haskellnotesfollow #ainotesfollow

"Sharing economy" once meant something. You'd Uber someone B→C when already driving A→B→C→D; you'd AirBNB your home when vacationing and stay at someone else's home who was doing the same. No driving just for Uber; no houses just for AirBNB. I fear this history will be forgotten.

The job market feels like it's been run over by a truck. What's the play here? Anything automated/streamlined (job platforms, LinkedIn, etc.) feels like a dead end. Messaging people, networking and so on seems like the only reasonable way, and that's a hustle all on its own.

buit a keyboard driven calendar webapp right now cause im disappointed with all tho other solutions i could find. no dependencies, super customizable, im kind of obsessed. for the first time in my life im actually keeping my calendar alive.

I'm doing experiments with short attention-span students and code. Starting with python, and, oddly, now working in BASIC. As a C programmer of 40+ years, I find this aesthetically and pedagogically displeasing, but I am delighted to see them getting fully absorbed in writing 130 PRINT "You have been eaten by a bear!" : GOTO 900. While learning jj, I realize how Git habituated me into being ok with its unique jargon and prickly command line interface. Unlearning Git is refreshing.
