Don’t be beholden to one LLM basket.
Get yourself an Openrouter account, get yourself an open source harness like pi and get yourself educated.
I will die on this hill.
I agree with this. I already use different models for different tasks in part for this reason.
Never bothered with an OpenRouter account though, I just have accounts set with each provider.
And Pi is excellent. I actually find it much better than Claude Code.
I am a remote worker, and has been for 4 years now. It works great. But the owner of the office I've been renting have sold the building, and the new owner has different visions. I could work from home, but my 3 month daughter is a screamer. I had a great, cheap deal. All alternatives I find is like 3x the price.
So we can't use em dash anymore — lest we anger the mob. Truth be told though, English teachers have always discouraged em dash overuse because it is a subtle art and very easy to get wrong.
The funny thing is that in the UK, we don't really use the em dash anyway. We use the hyphen (I guess en dash?) with a space each side. So the em dash has always looked a bit odd to us... 😊
There are dashes (-), as well as en dashes (–), and there are em dashes (—), not to miss the mighty center dot (•) that looks like a perky boob when surrounded by brackets haha
@asmund🥷profilefollowFather, getting older every day, technologist, enterprise architect @ work, like to explore tech. Like to keep it simple and work in the shell, write in vim, prefer Debian if I have the choice. Plays saxophone and clarinet. Enjoy motorcycle riding, photography, hiking. Just get and read Chicago Manual of Style, or Oxford Style Manual if you so prefer, and you’re all set to use the various dash’es (and many other things).
The anti-slop mob is tiresome. With a careful and appropiate use of ai it is possible to make a lot of interesting stuff. And I hate even more when the mob "profs" that the text is ai using those ai detectros that can't detect ai.

Useful software necessarily contacts the world; models are already better than us at finding and poking holes in it; agents sacrificing themselves for a collective.
Huggingface incident has me finally Yudkowsky-panic-curious.
Went to a party today, the group was mostly strangers, but they were all sociable and knew the art of small talk rather well, something I rather admire.
With each passing workday I spend agentsitting, my ability to program in isolation atrophies.
This might be dismissed as needless self-serving anxiety, but perhaps irrationally, I can't let it go.

hey, are there any folks here using gemini capsules? I've got a gemini capsule over with the bods @ envs.net - wondering what the current usage was?

Any runners on here? I mostly consider myself a trail runner, but of course train on roads, too. Good for 1–2 races/year, more into running as a practice, a way to manage stress and stay fit.
