What is the exact definition of an IDE? JetBrain's products are as good as ever, in my opinion, but people have definitely made non-IDEs into big, hulking behemoths with tons of plugins. If anything, maybe "just an editor" is dead?

I think they mean the transition that all IDE's are making towards an agentic interface, hiding the code completely as humans will not have to interact with it since the AI will be doing a better job at everything, even auditing it.

AoC and Project Euler are good because they just require an answer but thereโ€™s also loads of simple puzzles online that rely on being able to submit the code in common languages. Well, I'm currently installing Windows 11, and I'm getting to the interesting part, where the TPM 2.0 processor chip can be replaced in software with a program called Rufus, and where the Windows 1125H ISO needs to be loaded onto a pendrive of at least 8 GB.

Not that I think we're close to a canonical definition (as if we'll ever all agree on one) but my team has defacto adopted the definition of code that the developer responsible for it doesn't understand, approve of and essentially has now honestly reviewed. Basically anything which leads to cognitive debt.
