That's so funny, I've never seen anyone get into it by this quote alone, he's the antagonist of the game The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind. The quote is even better when you hear it in context, but don't spoil the experience, you ought to play the game and hear it for yourself. What do you normally play?

This resonated a lot. Iโ€™m glad I read it now, before going totally insane lol. But I disagree that itโ€™s just a glorified spreadsheet. The UI/UX matters, how you present the data, how they can change and so on, all of those things play a role. The good thing with AI is iteration is cheaper than ever, so you can experiment and process the results quickly. But yeah sometimes I just do things here because I just have to be doing something, I canโ€™t leave it alone.
Agreed. The "just" makes the statement sound dismissive, but I do agree with the underlying sentiment that most software boils down to CRUD apps that help people organize information and complete tasks more efficiently. I think the path to developer enlightenment is realizing this truth without despairing over it.
So, I'm watching two shows right now - Silo and Attack On Titan. I'm nearing the end of S3 on Silo and have just finished S3 of AOT. The parallels between the two are interesting but the contrasts are more interesting, namely how much more intricate AOT is.

Up earlier than I should be today. The witching hour got me. I started thinking about how many in society have decided they prefer screens and artificial words over real words and real connection. Have we collectively decided itโ€™s easier to just not be vulnerable? I should go back to bedโ€ฆ
Went to a store yesterday, ๐Ÿค this close to buy a Delonghi Dedica but when I touched it, it felt so so rattly and cheap and it instantly turned me off. So I did some more research and now I think a used Gaggia Classic Pro will do. #coffeenotesfollow lovers, why is your hobby so hard to break into ๐Ÿ˜ช

Damn, that actually sounds like a genuinely nice experience. I'd recommend books, and a battery pack or two (not sure if there's electricity available), a blanket (unless you got a sleeping cabin) and comfortable clothes.

This is like the third time in my life I've seen an interrobang in the wild. And I don't know, but I'd prefer JSON over having configuration as constants in a PHP script like at $DAYJOB sob

My problem with yaml is the indentation annoyance it leads to, and if you are using the same tool on two different machine like windows and linux, have fun configuring those tabs and spaces all the time. I do like toml and ini for editing, but json is not as bad as yaml for sure
