Published livediff — a tool written in to show a live diff view so you stay on top of what your are doing.

I stopped interacting much with social media years ago and am honestly not sure how to do this any more… but I like the shape of what is starting here.

likewise. Its just nice to have an "even playing field" without any perceived hierarchy or weird material incentives to perform the way you'd be pushed to on regular SM.

agree, no images on my screen is soothing

Reminds me of the Kiwix offline Wikipedia "nopic" version. (I downloaded that version because it's much smaller than the full version that includes images.)

Images are fine for me, but should be behind a link, or a small thumbnail. Non-animated. Videos too. But that’s me. They will most likely have to be hosted elsewhere, while the thumb could be here. Nah. We are ok with just text.

Yeah, before you know it the feed becomes a collection of memes. Have to click or perhaps a browser extension that you personally see the opengraph/linked image in the feed but it's not inviting people to post them for the feed itself.

Wow, respect!

At moms house for the holiday weekend so the kids can see Nana. She has a "premium Plex" account on her tv serving a truly massive amount of content. Allegedly the brother of a long time friend is offering the "service". She says that the service will go down when the host is having outages, so the infra is likely local. I brought my year this weekend. We are going to dig in to this guys operation. Intuition dictates that there is some hand rolled accounting going on. I'd like to see it.

Wrote a short essay on overreliance on metaphor in our "understanding" of the brain

"Your outie can use Claude."

I'm working on this command-center project. Human describes the mission. Agents define the mission, breakdown and come up with a plan, and drive it.

there's a gentle kind of space not some echoing cave nor some incessant chirping flock more a darkened back room lit by a projector candid photos of your neighbors songs made only for friendly ears and the kind of brave words that rarely make it out of our hearts

"some incessant chirping" <- musical word choice

My new favorite little script: echo freeze > /sys/power/state Quickly suspends the laptop until I press the power button again for 1 second. This eliminates a miniscule (but still annoying) motherboard noise that was leaking to my speakers whenever I needed to take a . sensitivities…

, the emote you can set as mood in your profile, what limits does it have? I was trying to use the scissors emoji ( ✂️ ), but it wouldn't let me

testing, testing. is this on? hello?

hello! welcome!

Just got Moshi set up - a phone-friendly terminal app. Works well with Herdr for persistent agents, friendly UI. Verdict so far: looks like I'll be working more from my phone.

curious to know whats the experience of production push in other companies? e.g lots of documents/approvals…

Q: What’s a dog’s favorite part of the opera? A: The ARRRRRRRRR-ia!

This joke also works with pirates.

Just read a really interesting article on Japanese geography and history and it made me realise despite how great the Japanese are at adapting to a changing world they actually don’t have much of a history of being the centre of that innovation unchartedterritories.tomaspueyo.com/…/how-japans-geography-determined-its

Tweaking the algorithm. Really want posts like i.e genuinely long discussions, stay longer instead of getting burried away by newer posts.

I think it works now better.

Watching the UTMB livestream. Any other trail fans out there tuning in?

Very cool: our kids' bathroom toilet overflowed last night, resulting in water draining into our kitchen on the floor below.

I empathize, we've had that happen within the last year too, even the same bathroom-over-kitchen floor plan. And the extra test of patience: the kiddos don't have the skills to properly clean and sanitize that kind of mess.

Might be a good outcome to this. Water remediation folks want to take out 30 sqft of drywall to ensure the space btwn floors is fully dry. But my architect father-in-law thinks this is yagni and we can get away with just using a fan and space heater to let it dry out on its own 🤔

Thankfully, the zero cost option seems to have worked out. Had fans pointed up at the ceiling for a couple days. Will have to patch up some water-damaged drywall, but think we can avoid opening up the ceiling 😌

love the way you packaged this. liquids damage sucks, its uniquely traumatizing
