Small idea: add a form of acknowledgement for when you’ve read a reply/tagged post and do not want to quote reply to it necessarily. Could be as simple as a generic checkmark that has no toxic reward pattern attached to it.
Imho, these are just cravings. Dopamine is addictive like cocaine and we’ve been trained by SM to seek the acknowledgement like drug addicts seek their next dose. I feel it degrades the quality of interactions. Forums don’t have that, IRC doesn’t have that, they work fine. It’s only recent media that added this engagement hook, “seen by A, B, C”, “liked” etc.
i understand. My thinking was purely based on the fact that sometimes you just want to give a "thanks" or "im on it" reply to a tag or a mention, without necessarily clogging the channel with yet another reply/post. But I see the issue you raise as well.

I don’t see authenticated requests in the logs except from the notifications beacon, and I’m hiding anonymous because of the crawlers, perhaps you’re getting rate limited yes. I’ll see if I can increase the limits for authenticated requests carrying the bearer token.

flutter has finally been revived and updated to match latest changes. Will have to iterate further naturally as new issues surface but I'm happy with what it's looking like.

hey I see a lot of spamming on the
/posts/NNN/replies endpoints in the logs, are these intentional? They might cause rate-limiting. now has session caching for replies and threads. Should be a lot more conservative on hitting those endpoints.
Another thing I'm noticing is the firehose endpoint is reconnecting every few seconds instead of being kept alive. Is this a limitation of some sort of the EventSource client you're using? Because it might omit some messages, the reconnection doesn't do any replay.

I've found that the connection drops from the server's heartbeat are treated as errors by my client. Pushing a fix in 0.0.6 to reconnect quick and reconcile missed msgs.

Thanks! Yeah indeed, for now its very much Read-only. Maybe I'll tinker around and make a PR for POST endpoints, but as it stands I think there's enough to still improve on the UX for listing, themeing, etc to keep me busy as feedback hopefully rolls in.
Haven't really explored much, but would a frontend façade be of any interest to the burgeoning community? Something a little more involved than a glorified WebView I mean.
