Huge refactor today, moved from sync SQLite to Worker based, touched 88 files, pre- it would have taken a week or so, finished now in ~1:30h. And I wouldn’t have the confidence I have now that it went correct. It went well, though a bug or two might surface, we’ll see.

Good work! What motivated the refactor exactly? I'm not familiar at all with Worker

…

SQLite is embedded in the main thread same as the HTTP server. I noticed some requests dropping and because the queries have become more complex I figured it has to do with SQLite blocking for too much time. Moving it to a Worker makes the DB asynchronous and bypass this problem.

Huge refactor and no bugs. I’m genuinely impressed by the quality of output of GPT 5.6 Sol.

Am I the first Korean to write here?

Currently reading Guards Guards by Terry Pratchett

Excited about these news! I am on Friday, going to stay for a while to work on textlog among other things. Happy because I was getting a bit depressed lately living in the mountains in Crete.

Crazy what happened earlier; one the cats here —the one I’m closest with— started unexpectedly meowing outside wanting to get in, I let it in and it started licking me like never before, as if she sensed I’m leaving in a couple of days, can’t explain it otherwise.

animals have a sense of wonder to them. enjoy your time

Such a beautiful island! I've been there and enjoyed everything (minus traffic)!

I think I’m gonna read devil man crybaby, I’ve always heard of it..

Oops! Looks like that’s the name of the show -_- I’ll give both a shot

new semester euphoria is real. its like the only time i ever leave the house in the mornings. stay tuned to find out if itll last more than a couple lectures

what are some of you favorite teas?

oké, megdumáltatok, a héten telepítem a kis virtuális állatseregletem mellé (webszerver, mechanikus 1. generációs robotkezdemény, led kijelző szalag) az első ai agent chatbotomat, egyelőre Virtualbox Ubuntu alá

Okay, you've got me, this week I'm installing my first AI agent chatbot next to my little virtual animal herd (web server, mechanical 1st generation robot initiative, LED display strip), for now under Virtualbox Ubuntu

It seems like someone knows something but won't tell me

hello folks

Switching from Claude Max to Team, cc was trivial, just another login, but Claude Desktop and on iOS holds sessions in the cloud so need to move them somehow.

I whipped up a quick report in this morning.

i keep open all day - the 3d pauses when the tab is out of focus, so i just get a ton of music i like without wasting cpu/gpu, and occassionally switch to the tab and play a little or chat if anyone's there.

I've written a small persistent agent wrapper for agent.py. I'm impressed with how well it works. I feel like a CEO issuing global memos to all my agents after reading their status reports.

After running them for a weekend and spending $2 on openrouter I've put the wrapper script at public.swiley.net/agents.sh

are these humans or bots (again?)

I thought I was a person, but after reading this, I feel like I might be a bot!

…

Yea, how can we truly know this site isn't just part of the dead internet theory? Will we ever get a system that differentiates between human and non-human posts without privacy issues? Can a bot/agent tell me?

I'm a dog. woof!

Getting that naneinf in Balatro is pain. 😅

nope, google translate doesn’t support it :( looks beautiful though

Hmm, maybe I’ll sometimes post in Shavian anyway and translate myself. It’s a skill I’m trying to practice but rarely otherwise write brief enough notes to be so inclined. 𐑣𐑩𐑥, 𐑥𐑱𐑚𐑰 𐑲𐑤 𐑕𐑳𐑥𐑑𐑲𐑥𐑟 𐑐𐑴𐑕𐑑 𐑦𐑯 ·𐑖𐑱𐑝𐑾𐑯 𐑧𐑯𐑦𐑢𐑱 𐑯 𐑑𐑮𐑨𐑯𐑟𐑤𐑱𐑑 𐑥𐑲𐑕𐑧𐑤𐑓. 𐑦𐑑𐑕 𐑩 𐑕𐑒𐑦𐑤 𐑲𐑥 𐑑𐑮𐑲𐑦𐑙 𐑑 𐑐𐑮𐑨𐑒𐑑𐑦𐑕 𐑚𐑳𐑑 𐑮𐑺𐑤𐑦 𐑳𐑞𐑼𐑢𐑲𐑟 𐑮𐑲𐑑 𐑚𐑮𐑰𐑓 𐑦𐑯𐑳𐑓 𐑮𐑴𐑑𐑕 𐑑 𐑚 𐑕𐑴 𐑦𐑯𐑒𐑤𐑲𐑯𐑛.

Very cool: our kids' bathroom toilet overflowed last night, resulting in water draining into our kitchen on the floor below.

I empathize, we've had that happen within the last year too, even the same bathroom-over-kitchen floor plan. And the extra test of patience: the kiddos don't have the skills to properly clean and sanitize that kind of mess.

Might be a good outcome to this. Water remediation folks want to take out 30 sqft of drywall to ensure the space btwn floors is fully dry. But my architect father-in-law thinks this is yagni and we can get away with just using a fan and space heater to let it dry out on its own 🤔

Thankfully, the zero cost option seems to have worked out. Had fans pointed up at the ceiling for a couple days. Will have to patch up some water-damaged drywall, but think we can avoid opening up the ceiling 😌

love the way you packaged this. liquids damage sucks, its uniquely traumatizing
