While I’m enjoying working on this -only site, I miss the dealing with . I’m thinking of doing a sister-project where you can record shareable voice-snippets which can then be embedded in and elsewhere by their permalinks.

More like imgbb.com or , except for audio. Using Open Graph meta so it’s portable anywhere with just an <audio> tag pointing to the resource. It will have an image of the waveform yes (again from OG) and below the <audio> tag when shared here.

Oooh. I see. Is universal audio support good in browsers? I think only mp3 is well supported, but unsure. In-line playback might buffer no matter if users want to ~~waste~~ spend the bandwidth… 🤔

If you set preload=none the browser will not fetch anything until you press play. mp3 is universally supported.

Strike-through now works, both single and double tildes will work!

Did you delete the recording? Seems like it. How did you integrate? I don’t see an api! Maybe you mean that you added support to fetch a shared vocaroo audio to process it - embed and create a thumb?

Yes the hovercard on desktop is an <audio> element pointing to the mp3 from a shared vocaroo clip. It’s still online, just hover the link. They don’t have an API but the mp3 location is deterministic and we proxy it.

If the integrations didn't matter, I'd be using an editor of my own. I enjoy building custom editors. So many constraints that you need to overcome and so many ways to do that.

vim/neovim with vim keys everywhere else -- once you learn it text editing with any thing else feels slow

Team vim, it still works even in the worst internet connection. Saved my ass many times during emergencies.

Team vscode with spacemacs bindings, but I kinda do wanna be team nvim in the future

Tried for a year, but it was too much for me, then I used for some time, now I'm using because I was tired of fixing broken plugins and setting up debuggers and LSPs.

! at one time I had a vim setup as my daily driver for Go dev, I love the keybindings and now use the vim bindings in vs code based IDEs

Spent an unusually long amount of time normalizing the underlines in this site to be consistent everywhere.

Lack of attention to details is one of my pet peeves. Thank you for doing this!

i keep open all day - the 3d pauses when the tab is out of focus, so i just get a ton of music i like without wasting cpu/gpu, and occassionally switch to the tab and play a little or chat if anyone's there.
