You can program your whole life without learning how to meaningfully abstract problems into simpler pieces that TRULY make the problem easier to understand. But to really simplify something for others, you need an intellectual empathy that many simply never figure out.

AoC and Project Euler are good because they just require an answer but there’s also loads of simple puzzles online that rely on being able to submit the code in common languages. I’ve been wondering, however, if I could use an LLM to take those problems and create a verification harness for any language I like.

me too, but at the same time i'm enjoying getting things done, otherwise i would get lost in details like bikeshedding naming variables and making the code look pretty, and little would be done.

I love how dates go so well with cashews. So at least once a day, I grab about 5 whole cashews and 1 date. It’s a perfect little snack!

I was talking about this with some alumni students, specifically their experience learning python with us a few years earlier (these are college students who are not really using python any more). What it seems to boil down to is that with python you have the feeling that there is this huge forest of solutions to any problem you are having -- but you will never know the whole forest. BASIC feels like you "know" it after a day or two of playing around, evidently.

I just took a look on it yesterday and seems like the stimulant effect is there, so seems like at this point there are mix results on if it actually helps with anxiety and sleep issues. For me personally seems to work just fine but Im not 100% sure how much does it actually does something for me or is just a placebo effect. My thinking is that if I do it from time to time, I can let my body get use to the feeling of a sleep schedule without create dependency on external melatonin dosis or CBD.
