The best analogy I have is it feels like a dinner party with no social contract to join or leave evergreen conversations. Removing likes and timestamps made me rely on notifications as a proxy. As a result, I've turned them all off and am trying to write and meander without external forces.

The lack of dopamine from not being able to like or get liked is both painful and incredibly freeing. It feels impressively like actually just talking to people.
