I was thinking... will it be possible to make textlog decentralised? Keeping the same functionality, but allow self-hosters to interact with other self-hosters, that is.

You mean federated. I did a small investigation, it's not impossible but not sure if it's worth it. It is a huge architectural change and would require a ton of maintainance, and our current scale doesn't justify it. I feel the centralized character has some charm also.

Yeah, federated, exactly. Centralised has some charm, but it is a silo, and a single point of failure.

Implemented a db /dump.zip - it contains all the data needed if you want to reconstruct a frozen view of the entire site - but without exposing any sensitive information.
