Might just lift the limitation.

Lifted, that’s how clients want to use it then so be it! Should be fine. We’re nowhere near crashing the server from connections.

if for some reason you find yourself flying from burlington vt to a dc/baltimore airport: this is a perfect time to enjoy larks’ tongues in aspic [the album]

Am in a beautiful national park right now, drinking with elks, but the lack of strong internet makes me nervous :(

Zik is my pet project - a photos manager that is as fast as possible and as small as possible. It leaves sparks as it goes (lol jk)

……

i like things being as fast as possible. link?

Unfortunately no. Just starting it. Got the proof of concept loading a dir with its sub-dirs then rendering on the GPU in textures silky smooth. 1.7mb executable, but will need to level up to SDL and that will double the size I think.

Ah, then it isn't , it is . :-P

I agree. It is for now. Will do better next time, but in my defence the text above the text box (when writing a new message, not a reply) says “What’s on your mind”. :-P

Applied to an L5 software engineering role via e-mail and without any other contact I received back a bunch of questions that clearly look like they're aimed at L6 or even L7. Not sure what to do with that so I withdrew. Briefly considered answering them but was weirded out.

Today I wanted to share some Music from my youth :) www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Hn-pNxtByM

My first post on Twitter in 2007 or so was kinda about the utility of broadcasting what was on my mind. :)

Maybe it'll end up being a case of stated vs revealed preference, but I feel like Apple's really missing the moment with their latest products. People by and large want less tech in their lives right now, not screens and AI stuff everywhere.

Returned from the gym. Good day.

tech influencers on twitter: god i hate interacting with other people. i love my new bot that does it for me. life is so much better now that im just telling bots what to do and not talking to people. i can’t wait for everyone to be bots!

Ubuntu telepítése a VirtualBoxba rendben megtörtént. Már csak egy ügynököt kell bele fogni, és máris kész az "AI torture chamber", ahogy a Futurism írja... Mondjuk, első körben még nem így fogalmaznék...

Ubuntu has been successfully installed in VirtualBox. All you need to do is add an agent and you have an "AI torture chamber", as Futurism describes it... Let's just say I wouldn't put it that way at first...

I started blogging… again mataherry.bearblog.dev

The most elegant code I've ever written, is of a , using a tribool return (null, undefined, boolean) to denote status. I find it perfect.

When I stopped having a job I completely lost interest of huge portion of things I used to have interest before. I could connect all of that to consumerism. And I haven't gained any of that interest back.

Is it because you could no longer afford these things and had to budget?

I quit knowing I am financially ok. (I was likely burnt out, had to leave a place I greatly loved but I still left). I still can't exactly explain this.

Sounds like it was a gut feeling, I hope it works out for you, and in the meantime, you discover new passions. But I understand, unemployment leads to feelings of apathy.

How did all the tech oligarchs seem to go fash so quickly?

Actually, this makes sense to me - www.youtube.com/shorts/-sFwG2lt-nU

Still in Quebec City, which has a pretty sizable street population once you come down from the hill where the tour groups go. We had to basically step over some guys sharing a glass pipe on the only stairs up the hill yesterday; I have teenagers so this bothered me. Later, my youngest and I were talking and he says "why don't the police do something about that?"

He's showing me the first season of Mob Psycho, so I say You know how Mob's little brother Ritsu wants to clean up the school so there are no people who will bully Mob, and so he allies with the power hungry student council president and frames all the bullies to get them expelled and the whole situation eventually becomes really corrupt and authoritarian and Ritsu feels to blame even though he started out with good intentions? Life is really like that...

…

And so my guess is that Quebec is in the portion of the cycle that's reacting to harsh and unfair policing of the past. Someday a mayoral candidate will get elected on the promise of cleaning it all up and the cycle will begin again. Anyway Mob Psycho is a good show.
