being a student is great but the tasks are really quite boring. ive worked in academia now a little bit and its genuinely much more fun to work on something real, read papers, do experiments and write. It didnโ€™t work out, we found competition offering the same service for free so the #ideanotesfollow fell apart. Need to find something else to do as a side project to textlog. ๐Ÿ˜• Thinking of a code editor thatโ€™s focused on the new agentic workflows, so you have it on the side regardless of your agent tools and it monitors the git diff and offers a nice panorama view. Iโ€™ve done an extension for VSCode similar to this idea.
This is really cool site but only drawback I see is 500 character per post limit. I think this should me more like 1500. or there is a limitations type something like I can do 3-4 long post per day credit. whom can i message for this feature request?

On some Mastodon instances, they post whole blog posts or massive threads and I feel this type of platform is not the place for such content. But this is clearly personal taste.

I never have enough time but Iโ€™d love to do a bit more recreational programming with esoterical languages like kitten, #uiuanotesfollow, and #jqnotesfollow. AoC and Project Euler are good because they just require an answer but thereโ€™s also loads of simple puzzles online that rely on being able to submit the code in common languages. Iโ€™ve been wondering, however, if I could use an LLM to take those problems and create a verification harness for any language I like.

I've been on a kick lately of trying to visualize the oscillating clock, and ultimately the effectively arbitrarily complex activity of a computer processor, as modern refinements of the line shaft factory of the 19th century. Of compute as being not much more than profoundly refined "work" delivered by the electrical grid into marvelously complex machines. Does that, as a metaphor at least, feel as important to you as it has to me of late? We spend so much time in a world abstracted.
