I gotta say this is the best laptop ive ever used, keyboard/io is unmatched and it still runs super snappy on omarchy right now, even with only 4 gigs of ram :D AND this thing has a cd drive!

yea its insane to me how feature rich these old business machines were, nowadays every laptop just looks the same and kinda sucks. if you have the money and still love the old formfactor, you can consider upgrading to an aftermarket board: www.tpart.net/about-x210ai/

Do you live there or are just visiting? I remember feeling so at home there as a kid. I never kept my French up so I don't think I could ever move there.

Visiting, for the first time. It's about a 9 hour drive from home so we've never made the trip, but so worth it. Went to Ile d'Orleans yesterday, just... so quiet and beautiful. Seems a bit of a paradise, haven't even made it up to the natl park(s) yet. My French is coming back a little each day, made it all the way through the coffee order just now :)

The best Mcp server I have as Claude Connector is Emacs running on my Homeserver. It has one tool - eval-elisp. Using it Claude can do almost anything. This sounds like a really interesting idea. What would you say are its advantages over having the agent use the shell, write shell scripts, etc? Just your personal preference for elisp or something else?

To load a skill I literally type - “load (◊doc 'slack) and browse channel X for today”. The idea is my text stays English but repeating concepts are real reusable elisp functions that stay fully deterministic. (◊doc 'agent) and Claude knows how to talk to open code and pi agents.
