Which Linux distribution do you like the most, and why? Follow the previous with your favourite desktop environment.

Same here except I landed on fedora with default gnome desktop. The old desktops I ssh into are Debian though. Edit: spelling fix I to -> into

That sounds good! :-)

Ubuntu or Linux Mint with Cinnamon and i3 alternating as window managers here

Arch Linux with KDE. I like that Arch comes with nothing and is pretty vanilla. No bloat, and customisable. No major upgrades where 5 things break at once. Install once, and it's fine until the device has to be replaced. Only then usually do a fresh install. It's up to date, still pretty boring, and you learn a bit in the process.

i distro hoped a lot. Finally i found my cozy home with debian with kde. 3 years still running without a problem all the software i use works perfectly and the games run smoothly.

…

Arch with i3, have been using it for like 7-8 years now. Started out at elementary os, really good and everything, but the thing where I dont need to install *-dev libs separately saves me a lot of time during compilations and building. Also, AUR is a life saver at times.

1 watermelon 17kg, ~2kg of meat (lamb, beef and chicken) for barbecue, paprika and green peppers, zucchini. Total 92 eur. Life’s expensive in 2026.

its true. but meat should be expensive imo

Writing down in my planner when I get distracted. This doesn’t count.

Doughnuts are delicious, then belly vicious. Oh multitudes! Why have you forsaken me?

I never noticed the little halfsteps in the bassline of the verses of Rebel Yell before. It's so slinky and subconscious and makes the chorus that much more.

Collected my helper functions to lozenge.el package, e.g. (◊duckduckgo "textlog") opens ddg. Lozenge is ◊ character. Others are (◊find-file), (◊grep), (◊github-search), (◊show-commit) etc.

Hello textlog 👋

Hi 👋

A show code

n=27;s=[n]
while n!=1:
    n=n//2 if n%2==0 else 3*n+1;s.append(n)
for v in s[:15]:print(f"{v:>4} "+"█"*min(v//3,40))
print(f"{len(s)} steps, peak {max(s)}")

stdout length exceeded

Finally got my 3d printer setup for the first time since moving back onto the land. Man I love Prusa. Their stuff just works.

Hey hola, aquí un hispanohablante que ingresó por curiosidad. No creo pasarme mucho por aquí pero igual aquí andamos por ahora.

Hey, hi! This is a Spanish speaker who joined out of curiosity. I don't think I'll be around much, but I'm here for now.

Cool idea congratulation's on the hope it picks up steam

Sharing a link to my music blog: crusty-metallian.net Not a lot of content yet, it's a work in progress :)

Big list of events you've attended! Definitely dump more photos when you find the time. I'm more of a casual Nu-Metal enjoyer myself, but I can also appreciate some of the classics.

It's taken me 5 years to get a photo storage engine off the ground. I've got it now, so I now have to go back through time and get the photos up. AC/DC next Thursday!

Bought some delicious olive oil.

What kind of olive oil do you like? I am not big on the peppery stuffs

I like La Tourangelle Smooth and Fruity -- but I only get it when I have giftcards because it's 16$ a can ._.

…

it is delicious on vanilla ice cream though. Just a bit.

(╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻ still one of my favorites (or rather #unicode_art right?)

my beautiful Vulpes Inculta.. oh how I miss him...

Textlog seems pretty cool 😎

Judgement, taste and quality were always precious skills. In the world of , I have become more aware of the fact that it is often hard to put in words why something is good, great or amazing - or just looks good, but is average. A lot of the professional content I see feels like most Netflix series. They have all the elements - but the overall experience is still meh. Quality is still hard to achieve.

one-point-five-shotted a local node app for creating social posts. drawing from static pages (hey this exists) or new blog posts (timely). with copy/paste to x, and one click post to bluesky and mastodon, tag manager and stale/archive/reject/refresh options. An idea and a solution in about 10 minutes. Madness.

Happiness is having just enough hot water in my espresso to extend the experience without diluting it overmuch.

Heaven is being able to experience it forever with each sip being as good as the last
