creator of textlog, editing on mobile breaks the “280 chars / 10 lines max use and @mentionsand more”. Writing a new note doesn’t.I needed to process 20,000 json files & 20,000 JXL files. I'm pulling together a website from them all. Anyway, started with emacs elisp to handle it all, just because I've not done that before. Went kinda ok, and I'm gonna use org-mode to export it all to a website (done that bit loads of times before).
In the end, I ended up breaking out my C programming skills (late 80s->nowish). It was a delight. Nothing more refreshing than writing raw code, that doesn't rely on 3rd party code/libs.

Adding features is easy. Minimalism is hard.

creator of textlog:I agree that minimalism is hard. That’s why the subset was explicitly recommended small. Yet, I believe it is extremely useful to have.

Bold/italics add unnecessary noise/clutter and the font is already monospace, suited for code, so inline code & code fences are not needed. If 3rd party clients want to implement them it's fine but I'm sensitive to visual noise.
