Putting a slide deck together (outside of work), despite agreeing with Tufte on this matter. I’ll also create a handout that tells the story better than the slides and deliver that, too, but was asked to produce a slide deck, and I think that’s part of the “effort theater.” Using #latexnotesfollow Beamer for the slides, but not a theme that looks like Beamer because humans have eyes.

After #exercisenotesfollow everything's awake and a good kind of sore. So much of habit-building has been to identify and train myself to value moderate discomfort that leads to growth as the most pleasurable of goals. Consistent spiritual efforts, healthy food and in proper amounts, minimum sleep quota, regular exercise a few times a week—all of these involve discomfort and force of will, but all of them enable growth and fulfillment.

being a student is great but the tasks are really quite boring. ive worked in academia now a little bit and its genuinely much more fun to work on something real, read papers, do experiments and write. Now i have these last few exams to get through and i cant care for them like i used to. #Researchnotesfollow #Sciencenotesfollow

It is troubling watching the news today from the elections in Germany. Yes, it is democratic and absolutely fair elections and the people of Germany make their own choice in their situation. Developed a Vinboard (my pinboard.in clone) shortcut, works really well. On iOS it lives in Share menu, on macOS in the Dock. Pinboard charges for much less functionality $22/year.
