I see Windows 8-level nonsense (well, Windows 8.1), for me the more complicated interface is a challenge, if the software itself works well, but the beginning is not going too well, I came up with a new philosophical slogan for Windows, which is also a Hungarian saying: "This is it, you have to love it."
Somehow, I can't work in the mornings. Going to the office earlier just makes longer the "warmup period", this is, the period I stare the computer's screen reading stuff that is completely unrelated to my work. #ASDnotesfollow

Super tired today. Must be the fall. Must be the rain. Must be the stretch of 5 meetings back to back the whole work day. Must be everything thatโ€™s on my mind. Tomorrow itโ€™s a new day!

Ouch. Did you contribute in these meetings?

Sure, thatโ€™s what I do. Iโ€™m not sad for it, itโ€™s actually great to be able to put my very small dent in a few things. But exhausting it is nevertheless.

Glad you're still a part of it, it's all performing, really. My meetings were useless. I was the youngest guy there, didn't have much to do but practise my doodling.

I still don't get how now after AI coding there's people saying that contrary to common belief code wasn't a bottleneck and I realized that when I was starting to code at 10yrs ago when I was 15 and read it in a stackoverflow comment. I thought that was the common belief and still can't believe a lot of supposed senior programmers apparently believed so.

Yes, code was never the bottleneck and of course now it never will be either. Figuring out semantic modeling of data that makes sense across business domains and figuring out the right way to use digitalization to modernize processes, and the change cultures as become possible through such work - thatโ€™s much more bottlenecks! Code is easy; people and process is hard!

๐Ÿคฃ Did not remember the offline version being this bad, but maybe it went downhill in the past 5 years I have not used it.

I never used the online version, but the last time I used the offline version it already was a horrible experience. This was about 5 years ago, before I had moved entirely to Linux. It was so bad I downloaded a pirated version of some old MS Office 2007 Blue Edition to have something acceptable. I unironically prefer Libre Office.

For 30 years, productivity skyrocketed through automation, yet longevity plummeted as a direct result of sleep deprivation. While these gains accrue to the owner class, sleep remains an undervalued element of the worker's health. We are trading life expectancy for chump change.

That said, in Canada working class started loosing life expentancy for the 3rd year in a row, and WHO figures show a decline in improvement of life expentancy globally. But hey, I am just a no-one on the internet spewing bs :)

Huge refactor today, moved from sync SQLite to Worker based, touched 88 files, pre-#AInotesfollow it would have taken a week or so, finished now in ~1:30h. And I wouldnโ€™t have the confidence I have now that it went correct. It went well, though a bug or two might surface, weโ€™ll see.

SQLite is embedded in the main thread same as the HTTP server. I noticed some requests dropping and because the queries have become more complex I figured it has to do with SQLite blocking for too much time. Moving it to a Worker makes the DB asynchronous and bypass this problem.
