My favorite innovations in my own work -- and to be honest, I'd prefer to call them "discoveries" -- came from simplification. There's a beautiful moment when a stack of difficult, conflicting ideas collapse into a tighter, simpler structure.

Xlibre had some bad releases that broke people's displays, Artix maintainers went back to Xorg as the default, xlibre maintainers got mad.
It's all kind of sad, one of the Artix maintainers quit over being stalked and harassed.
Before AI, coding was my creative outlet. Now, it seems like I need to find a new one, but hobbies being #ttrpgnotesfollow and #videogamesnotesfollow, and with a family, I'm not sure where to find the time.
