A credit union wants to get their own data out of a vendor's online system. Vendor wants $160,000. I wrote a #pythonnotesfollow script with #Playwrightnotesfollow to download the data just as though a user would. It's going to run for about 6 weeks to download around 250k records and 70GB of images.

Off to handstand class. I have been known to recommend to everyone within earshot doing challenging and/or silly physical things in a community. Not bucking the trend here.

I've been on a kick lately of trying to visualize the oscillating clock, and ultimately the effectively arbitrarily complex activity of a computer processor, as modern refinements of the line shaft factory of the 19th century. Of compute as being not much more than profoundly refined "work" delivered by the electrical grid into marvelously complex machines. Does that, as a metaphor at least, feel as important to you as it has to me of late? We spend so much time in a world abstracted.

I never have enough time but I’d love to do a bit more recreational programming with esoterical languages like kitten, #uiuanotesfollow, and #jqnotesfollow. AoC and Project Euler are good because they just require an answer but there’s also loads of simple puzzles online that rely on being able to submit the code in common languages. I’ve been wondering, however, if I could use an LLM to take those problems and create a verification harness for any language I like.
