I needed to process 20,000 json files & 20,000 JXL files. I'm pulling together a website from them all. Anyway, started with emacs elisp to handle it all, just because I've not done that before. Went kinda ok, and I'm gonna use org-mode to export it all to a website (done that bit loads of times before). In the end, I ended up breaking out my C programming skills (late 80s->nowish). Say more. I've been using it this year "at scale" and it sucks in the way that everything sucks when the whole company starts using it for everything. I haven't used Ansible in over a decade, but am curious what you like about it better.

Ansible just melds with my way of thinking better. I have a really hard time wrapping my head around nested loops in HCL and the overall "ugliness" of the language. Plus, I kind of like being in control of the order things are created.

Visiting, for the first time. It's about a 9 hour drive from home so we've never made the trip, but so worth it. Went to Ile d'Orleans yesterday, just... so quiet and beautiful. Seems a bit of a paradise, haven't even made it up to the natl park(s) yet. My French is coming back a little each day, made it all the way through the coffee order just now :)

Thanks, I use a Kinesis Advantage 2 and it’s a big help. I’ve found avoiding holding down keys, with thumbs or otherwise, has been the biggest help.
