Choice is definitely a problem. We notice it when we go to our cabin, about a 2 1/2 hour drive away. The grocery store there targets #foodnotesfollow for its local community. I think a trusted piece of software such as your operating system should be in charge of managing permissions. For example, I believe with Wayland on gnome you no longer need to promise you aren't secretly taking screenshots of the whole monitor and shipping it somewhere because to do that Wayland requires you to get user permission.

I was thinking along the same line, but then if it is not a gated system - thereโ€™s always ways for software to sidestep these - just going down to a lower level. The other issue I have is if the system or software asks or notifies all the time - for every tiny user action!

Yeah, 100%. That is completely something I am punting on currently. It would be easy to just copy over the solution from (extensions to) Markdown, but it's hard to entirely narrow in on both what tables ought to do and how to make them do it. If you had a magic wand, what would you have them be more like?

I know many small business owners, and a clear majority do have investors, whether spouse, parents, or a small business loan. Easily more than 50% never make a profit. I know a woman who ran a clothing retail store for over a decade, who was never able to pay herself a dime. When the pandemic hit, everyone closed, but the ones who actually needed the business to pay their bills opened up as soon as it was allowed or shortly thereafter. Many took years. They are cosplaying.

a business loan is not an investment, it is debt financing that pays back with interest.
