Arch Linux with KDE. I like that Arch comes with nothing and is pretty vanilla. No bloat, and customisable. No major upgrades where 5 things break at once. Install once, and it's fine until the device has to be replaced. Only then usually do a fresh install. It's up to date, still pretty boring, and you learn a bit in the process.

i distro hoped a lot. Finally i found my cozy home with debian with kde. 3 years still running without a problem all the software i use works perfectly and the games run smoothly.

Yet I see it can empower people that do not know a tech stack, and get good enough results out of it. However i also see, it makes you lazy (and frustrates as soon as it gets somewhat complicated). I lament the death of programming as an economically-viable craft, but am also leveraging the new tools to build things and to try to stay competitive. I think we have yet to find out how agentic coding will really make sense for companies once the costs stop being subsidized. But it's clearly not going anywhere.

If writing (incl X/FB posts) is meant to convey "some human being did/saw/thought this and found it worth writing about", then AI undermines human connection and will annoy people. API docs, earnings reports, &c never conveyed that to begin with, so nobody will care about AI use.

Visiting, for the first time. It's about a 9 hour drive from home so we've never made the trip, but so worth it. Went to Ile d'Orleans yesterday, just... so quiet and beautiful. Seems a bit of a paradise, haven't even made it up to the natl park(s) yet. My French is coming back a little each day, made it all the way through the coffee order just now :)
