I tried the maximum and it is ok on mobile. Agree might be too big. Maybe 16.
A 24 characters handle will break the UI on mobile. I suggest it to be 10 characters maximum.

I changed it to 16 briefly then reverted that, since we have accounts with longer already. It should be fine with 24.
