I still don't get how now after AI coding there's people saying that contrary to common belief code wasn't a bottleneck and I realized that when I was starting to code at 10yrs ago when I was 15 and read it in a stackoverflow comment. I thought that was the common belief and still can't believe a lot of supposed senior programmers apparently believed so.

Yes, code was never the bottleneck and of course now it never will be either. Figuring out semantic modeling of data that makes sense across business domains and figuring out the right way to use digitalization to modernize processes, and the change cultures as become possible through such work - thatโ€™s much more bottlenecks! Code is easy; people and process is hard!

So even though I'm clumsy, the law of conservation of matter could still work better than it does here, or rather, it shouldn't work here, but it doesn't.
Opened up signups and postedLinkedInMain ยท A quiet, well-organized record of everything that keeps your home running. | Evan MeagherI'm excited to share something I'm working on with Eric Noggle: https://getonmain.com For most people, a home is the most valuable asset that they own. And yet, homes remain chronically under-managed. Cars have service records. Portfolios have dashboards. Homes have a junk drawer full of manuals and receipts. This leads to problems that degrade a home's value over time. Deferred maintenance snowballs from small issues to emergency repairs costing thousands. And the effort you *do* put into your about Maingetonmain.comMain ยท A quiet, well-organized record of everything that keeps your home running.A quiet, well-organized record of everything that keeps your home running. on LinkedIn yesterday. I naively went into a work problem thinking that RAG was solved by the service offered at work, and wow was I wrong. Been a fun week so far experimenting with many different methods before doing the academic research, and it's been nice to be validated by outside research.

Made another important decision to remove all counters โ€” notes, replies, following, followers โ€” from both people and hashtags, so you focus on the content not the numbers. It was creating competition which feeds the dopamine system, which we have exhausted and try to avoid. #meta

Short URLs are good. Memorable URLs are good. URLs spat out by URL shorteners are something entirely different.
The longer the text you need to store, the bigger a QR code needs to be in order to scan reliably. Also, you might be more confident in being able to keep a short URL stable (it's already a step of indirection, so if you want to reorg your site you can just update where the short URL points to). But people don't really take care to maintain short URLs anyway, apparently.

So, I've been using this harness for a week and a half now, and what's interesting to me is that it brings a lot of things that I'd already built for myself in Pi. I built a little email system for agents to communicate, a memory system to do this "continual harness" thing of self-improvement. I know I'll move on to another harness in the future, so I'm trying to treat this like I do laptops now, and think about portability in the things I build or customize.
