Okay, you've got me, this week I'm installing my first AI agent chatbot next to my little virtual animal herd (web server, mechanical 1st generation robot initiative, LED display strip), for now under Virtualbox Ubuntu
WezTerm for local and remote multiplexing really is the ideal experience - it's so much better than using zellij, tmux, zmx, and friends.. I don't think they pitch this feature hard enough on their site. I think the in-terminal multiplexers have their place - e.g. if you need to access from mobile (no WezTerm there) or on machines where you simply don't want to install WezTerm for some reason. WezTermrm could probably eliminate that last one by packaging just the mux server.

I'm 55 and recently self-diagnosed as "fairly ASD with some ADHD" after watching a lot of youtube videos. It's been immensely helpful (to the point of bringing me to tears sometimes) in understanding the struggles I had when I was younger. It's also been very helpful in understanding what I can do currently to support myself and work with my brain instead of against it.
๐Ÿคชprofilefollowreplied toprofilefollowretired programmer, new #ttrpgnotesfollow DM, learning Scottish Gaelic:
I'm glad it was useful to you. This process of becoming aware of our autism is not easy. It is liberating, but it is also difficult, at the same time. I watched a lot of videos too, but then I visited a couple psiquiatrists and a psycologist (I had other problems too), just to be sure. What is your opinion about the ASD youtube landscape? I think that there are a few very good channels, but there is lot of noise too. I see some danger there.
Those "10 signs you may be [or not be] autistic" seem quite dangerous to me. Neurodivergence can be tricky.
profilefollowretired programmer, new #ttrpgnotesfollow DM, learning Scottish Gaelicreplied to๐Ÿคชprofilefollow:
Yeah I agree that there are many ASD channels on YT of varying qualities. I only follow a few. Some of my favorites (very roughly in order):
  • @MomontheSpectrum
  • @imautisticnowwhat
  • @elenacarr0ll -- kinda more emotive, but I find that helpful sometimes
  • @autismfromtheInside -- no longer posts (burned out)
I think for now being self diagnosed is enough for me. Just knowing that I'm neurodivergent has been helpful for me to be kind to my own mind.

I still don't get how now after AI coding there's people saying that contrary to common belief code wasn't a bottleneck and I realized that when I was starting to code at 10yrs ago when I was 15 and read it in a stackoverflow comment. I thought that was the common belief and still can't believe a lot of supposed senior programmers apparently believed so.

Christian.replied toprofilefollowChilling. Hand coding C to feel alive:
Yes, code was never the bottleneck and of course now it never will be either. Figuring out semantic modeling of data that makes sense across business domains and figuring out the right way to use digitalization to modernize processes, and the change cultures as become possible through such work - thatโ€™s much more bottlenecks! Code is easy; people and process is hard!

What if AI will never reach full autonomy and humans are still needed to give direction and purpose and take responsibility - probably... not all humans like to be masters of AIs all day long and not all (who want to) can do that equally well.
I think it will still apply, just perhaps to a lesser degree. Kind of related to this blog postevnm.substack.comPlatform engineering still mattersReuse is a good thing, even with agentic coding I wrote recently (not to shamelessly plug my stuff ๐Ÿซฃ)
