There is beauty in simplicity. Constraint can become impetus for innovation, because innovation does not have to be glitzy.

I'm doing experiments with short attention-span students and code. Starting with python, and, oddly, now working in BASIC. As a C programmer of 40+ years, I find this aesthetically and pedagogically displeasing, but I am delighted to see them getting fully absorbed in writing
130 PRINT "You have been eaten by a bear!" : GOTO 900. Yes there is spaghetti, but it's their spaghetti and they seem to take delight in debugging it. Python will come later. I am a remote worker, and has been for 4 years now. It works great. But the owner of the office I've been renting have sold the building, and the new owner has different visions. I could work from home, but my 3 month daughter is a screamer. I had a great, cheap deal. All alternatives I find is like 3x the price.
Switched from gpg to age, because pinentry sucks. With age I set both of my Macโs security enclaves + software private key (stored in Passwords.app) + yubikey for hardware backup. Looks good.
I gotta confess, I vibe codet a Kirigami-based application and I liked it. I am a anti AI person, and cannot wait for the bubble to burst. Yet I see it can empower people that do not know a tech stack, and get good enough results out of it. However i also see, it makes you lazy (and frustrates as soon as it gets somewhat complicated). It seems it is being adopted everywhere. This is scary... if it becomes necessary, will you be able to find a job where they don't require you to use AI?
