When I read about #autismnotesfollow in reputable #booksnotesfollow, I relate to almost everything that is described (keeping in mind that no two autistic people are alike). However, I always read the sections on #eyeContactnotesfollow with bewilderment. I don't identify either with the obsessive need to make eye contact, which UK and US books often mention as #neurotypicalnotesfollow behavior, or with the difficulties in making it. #Neurodiversitynotesfollow #Psychologynotesfollow #Autismnotesfollow
I suspectโ€”and this is the interesting partโ€”that there are significant cultural differences in this regard. In fact, the reputable Spanish books on autism that I have read don't address this topic (if I remember correctly).

Definitely people here do intense full locked eye contact, which I canโ€™t do, unless Iโ€™m attracted to the person as I said. Even then Iโ€™ll move a bit around the face because itโ€™s uncomfortable even then. But others just lock in completely I see them doing it.
OK. I guess that Greece may be similar to Spain. I feel comfortable hanging with greeks, in Greece and elswhere. Then, if I don't look at the eyes, but others do. I guess that I'm very good at masking that I don't look at the eyes. I never got a comment related to eye contact.
I donโ€™t think itโ€™s something people notice immediately and consciously think this is wrong to make a comment, they will probably just not feel the same connection or feel something is off about you in general or think that youโ€™re busy thinking other things. Itโ€™s not the only case to not make eye contact with someone, you might just not like them. Thatโ€™s probably what they will sense.

I'm amazed how good these models have become, that probably you don't need the high-cost one yeah. With deep respect we remember King Harald of Norway who passed away in the early hours of this morning. May his memory rest in peace. I naively went into a work problem thinking that RAG was solved by the service offered at work, and wow was I wrong. Been a fun week so far experimenting with many different methods before doing the academic research, and it's been nice to be validated by outside research.

I still don't get how now after AI coding there's people saying that contrary to common belief code wasn't a bottleneck and I realized that when I was starting to code at 10yrs ago when I was 15 and read it in a stackoverflow comment. I thought that was the common belief and still can't believe a lot of supposed senior programmers apparently believed so.

Yes, code was never the bottleneck and of course now it never will be either. Figuring out semantic modeling of data that makes sense across business domains and figuring out the right way to use digitalization to modernize processes, and the change cultures as become possible through such work - thatโ€™s much more bottlenecks! Code is easy; people and process is hard!
