Is this true? Sometimes, AI allows for socratic thinking, this is, the conversation with the machine allows the thinker to go further as the AI thorws ideas to the conversation. Many times, the AI reasoning is not good enough, but like a friend that says a funny think that sparks an idea, the AI can help our brain to see other possible paths. The AI doesn't need to be right to be helpful

that's only true if a) that "rubber ducky" entity is not leading the line of thinking down the wrong path, and b) the human thinker is actually doing the critical thinking, and not the machine. The latter is where my criticism of unbridled AI use is in this case, wherein the human becomes the rubber ducky instead of the other way around.
๐Ÿ˜Žprofilefollowreplied to๐Ÿง™profilefolloweat, get a new hobby, sleep, repeat maxine.dev:
Indeed. The AI throws back ideas, but it is the human who must do the heavy lifting. In this regard, the AI is a sort of mirror, it reflects what you send it, showing another side the object. But if the human messages are bad, the AI will respond with bad quality answers.

Listening to this I had an AHA moment. When the powers that be made more and more LLM tokens the whole goal, I thought it was quite stupid. But I realized that for them it made sense, because in their managerial understanding of programming, they believed the output of LLMs is the best they could get for the money.

WezTerm for local and remote multiplexing really is the ideal experience - it's so much better than using zellij, tmux, zmx, and friends.. I don't think they pitch this feature hard enough on their site. I think the in-terminal multiplexers have their place - e.g. if you need to access from mobile (no WezTerm there) or on machines where you simply don't want to install WezTerm for some reason. WezTermrm could probably eliminate that last one by packaging just the mux server.
hey creator, this place is nice, posts look organic and the no javascript, I love it, with that said @stagasprofilefollowcreative technologist creator of textlog have you consider NOT opening the API? and have a 1 way to come here and enjoy it? the rationale being that API also opens the door to the slopai?

I was curious of testing the Omarchy distribution this week just because I had some free time to work on it. I saw a lot of hate around it and kind of get the point but so far at least for what I have been doing it wasn't terrible (at least at the point of writing this) although I am not trying to convince anybody to use it. But it just remember me how much do I hate MS.
I think a lot of the pull around Omarchy is you get a riced desktop out of the box? Personally, I wouldn't really consider it for a number of reasons but I do appreciate a nice looking desktop. If you want something similarly pretty but a bit more normal and less monolithic (who needs a whole 'distro' for what Omarchy provides anyway?) approach then I'd suggest Niri + Noctalia.
Choice is definitely a problem. We notice it when we go to our cabin, about a 2 1/2 hour drive away. The grocery store there targets #foodnotesfollow for its local community. It is beef-centric and often boxed foods -- which is not our diet. Access -- or lack thereof -- is the worst kind of problem. It is troubling watching the news today from the elections in Germany. Yes, it is democratic and absolutely fair elections and the people of Germany make their own choice in their situation. Still, seeing the far right gaining so much ground in Germany brings your thoughts some 90 years back. Letโ€™s hope and pray Germany is not going there again.
