ive been rocking my thinkpad 460s since 2018 or so, but ive just recently yolo purchased a chunky t420 for 80€. I gotta say this is the best laptop ive ever used, keyboard/io is unmatched and it still runs super snappy on omarchy right now, even with only 4 gigs of ram :D AND this thing has a cd drive!

its sad that newer models gradually lose features and quality... I love Thinkpads, but I cannot imagine myself using one 10 years from now...

The seductive power of using to just-get-it-done is very strong. One can't hurry quality. One can iterate quickly though in the hope of arriving somewhere good.

I direct a plan, then break it into phases, and each phase into sections with tasks and sub-tasks. The plan outlines all phases, but only write tasks one phase at a time, since things change. That's how I've been working with for the past few months to a year. It has been amazingly consistently high quality. just-get-it-done is for the rough sketch or proof of concepts (I do those too and a lot of them) but never for a quality product.

How can I change an organisation with hundreds of frustrated employees, when I can’t change my own life with only one person. Does a different person run a company and a different person live their life? I doubt it.

I think so, actually. My wife runs my household, I run my engineering org. As I get older I do see the two aspects of my personality start to merge but they are still divergent and were much moreso in my earlier years.

and to be clear, I don't mean that I offload all the work to her by any stretch. It's just that I'm much more outspoken and opinionated on the specifics of work life versus home life.

Yeah it's happening to people. It's because the email contains a link and we don't have the reputation yet. Not sure what to do, have you tried reporting it as 'Not spam' in your client? Maybe if enough people do that it will fix. Gmail works ok.

Yup, I am moving them out of it. It might take a while, but eventually should be OK. All good, hopefully now with a password I will not have much use for them any more.

is pretty fun. Some very nice improvements in 0.9 today.

So, I've been using this harness for a week and a half now, and what's interesting to me is that it brings a lot of things that I'd already built for myself in Pi. I built a little email system for agents to communicate, a memory system to do this "continual harness" thing of self-improvement. I know I'll move on to another harness in the future, so I'm trying to treat this like I do laptops now, and think about portability in the things I build or customize.

I think yes, but precisely NOT "at a philosophical level". You can have it only if you get your hands dirty and build it yourself. I think already proved this, just as a close example.

If you consider what you have nice, you can have nice things. If your expectations to your surroundings are very very low, you will be amazed with all the nice things you get from people you meet through your day. My personal approach.

I love how dates go so well with cashews. So at least once a day, I grab about 5 whole cashews and 1 date. It’s a perfect little snack!

What self control.. only 5?? :P

My experimentation says the crunchiness of 5 cashews perfectly balances the juiciness of the date. Your mileage may vary!
