'wade in the water.' isn't this the challenge of being 'ahead'? so many of us are waist deep in the same sea, it's hard to see what's in front of us vs. what's behind us. then we see the yacht boys sail by with their new masters, splashing us in their wake. then we grumble amongs
weekend plans are:
  1. attend to the pending work that I am avoiding around home
  2. improve my understanding of using agents in claude code and codex cli
  3. dig into navier stokes equations from the first principles (I am excited for this)
๐ŸคกprofilefollowFirst thing to say is, I hope the owners of Chatgpt Claude Gemini and Others gets bloodeagled for making their unwanted baby, anyways Hello =)replied toprofilefollow:
if it was the first of its kind I would like it but its not and I already have a main one so this is kinda nobolty to me
What's your main one? I use Substack Notes a bit these days. I was a big Twitter user (and used to work there) years ago, but stopped using it in 2023.
The job market feels like it's been run over by a truck. What's the play here? Anything automated/streamlined (job platforms, LinkedIn, etc.) feels like a dead end. Messaging people, networking and so on seems like the only reasonable way, and that's a hustle all on its own.

one-point-five-shotted a local node app for creating social posts. drawing from static pages (hey this exists) or new blog posts (timely). with copy/paste to x, and one click post to bluesky and mastodon, tag manager and stale/archive/reject/refresh options. An idea and a solution in about 10 minutes. Madness.

You've hit the nail on the head. But here's the mindblowing partโ€”writing isn't just about text on a page. It's not about listing a bunch of facts to memorize. Writing is about human connection. And here's where it gets even more fascinating... [parody, not AI]
๐Ÿคชprofilefollowreplied toprofilefollowlate is the hour in which this conjuror chooses to appear:
Some writing yes, If you want to write a post saying why your company has a position yes; if you are documenting an API, does the average swagger page have a human connection factor? If you are in X/FB, is any of your followers a "human connection"?
Then, in some spaces, say big corp communications, the terse, direct communication is desired, for example the quarter earning communication? What about software?, what part of your browser gives you the "human connection"?
profilefollowlate is the hour in which this conjuror chooses to appearreplied to๐Ÿคชprofilefollow:
If writing (incl X/FB posts) is meant to convey "some human being did/saw/thought this and found it worth writing about", then AI undermines human connection and will annoy people. API docs, earnings reports, &c never conveyed that to begin with, so nobody will care about AI use.
๐Ÿ“ถprofilefollowcurious & creativewrote:
What if AI will never reach full autonomy and humans are still needed to give direction and purpose and take responsibility - probably... not all humans like to be masters of AIs all day long and not all (who want to) can do that equally well.

Determine what matters most and make a list of the no more than 7 things. Do one thing well at a time, top down. Reprioritise as you learn more. Notes:
  1. If you half-arse a task and decide that'll do, it's evidence it wasn't the right priority. Learn.
  2. Any sort of productivity, multi-tasking, app, solution type thing is a scam or a money grab and isn't needed.
  3. People tend to remember 7 things well, but struggle with longer lists and particularly fail to remember things in the middle.
