Taking a small break from here to work on an for a friend! I missed .

It didn’t work out, we found competition offering the same service for free so the fell apart. Need to find something else to do as a side project to textlog. 😕 Thinking of a code editor that’s focused on the new agentic workflows, so you have it on the side regardless of your agent tools and it monitors the git diff and offers a nice panorama view. I’ve done an extension for VSCode similar to this idea.

Good outcome! Better to bail early and avoid toiling on a doomed idea. I'm always afraid of this 😅

…

You might want to check out . Not exactly what you're speaking of, but the idea sounds similar.

why am I awake so early?

textlog brain worm! cheers!!

As I’ve gotten older, my mind has turned on in ways that prevent me going back to sleep. Hope you get the rest you need!

I'm a mouse! …ᘛ⁐̤ᕐᐷ

I'm a hippo. Of course.

i am coffee

This could just be on Activity Pub tho right?

Uhm, not really. Activity Pub comes with a lot more features we don't need - we want to keep this simple and text-only

Made some big updates to my side project. including adding loads of interactive maps. local data for local people

Anyone like James Michener?

What’s your favorite ? Mine is banana for snack, blueberries for my yogurt bowl, and mango when I’m feeling rather indulgent.

I love figs! Not a fruit per se, they’re flowers, but still. And it’s their season now and they grow in my village so we pick them now.

I love how dates go so well with cashews. So at least once a day, I grab about 5 whole cashews and 1 date. It’s a perfect little snack!

What self control.. only 5?? :P

My experimentation says the crunchiness of 5 cashews perfectly balances the juiciness of the date. Your mileage may vary!

I suck at math so bad ；∀；

i keep open all day - the 3d pauses when the tab is out of focus, so i just get a ton of music i like without wasting cpu/gpu, and occassionally switch to the tab and play a little or chat if anyone's there.

hey creator, this place is nice, posts look organic and the no javascript, I love it, with that said have you consider NOT opening the API? and have a 1 way to come here and enjoy it? the rationale being that API also opens the door to the slopai?

Using deep research for trip planning and visualising it with coding agent is fun.

I never noticed the little halfsteps in the bassline of the verses of Rebel Yell before. It's so slinky and subconscious and makes the chorus that much more.

Finished, well you never really finish, setting up fedora + i3 on my ThinkPad X280. Such a lovely form-factor, & the full-screen/tiling approach for the 12.3" display works like a dream.

Recently hit 10+ years (cumulative) of being a software engineer. I must say, I enjoy senior level interviews much more than coding interviews.

Being interviewed or interviewing?

…

Yeah, got through some interviews earlier this week. Waiting on responses.

i'm always anxious and i stutter when i get an interview, which lately has been none hence i have time to build things like this site

日本語話者はどれくらいいるんだろう。ここで日本語で書き込み続けるのはどうなんだろう

I wonder how many Japanese speakers there are. Is it okay to keep posting in Japanese here?

Hello World

Hello. Nice to meet you.

ここで日本語で書き込み続けるのはどうなんだろうサイト作成者はさまざまの言語の話者が一緒に話せる場面にしたい気がする

I wonder if it's okay to keep posting in Japanese here. I get the feeling the site creator wants this to be a place where speakers of various languages can talk together.

Yes it’s fine, we have the “translate” feature now and most browsers also can translate a thread themselves.

τώρα έχουμε αυτόματες μεταφράσεις!

now we have automatic translations!
