Many leaders acquire authority through ambition and manipulation. Iโ€™m not referring to them. But a test of leadership for those who acquire authority organically, with the will of those being led, is to maintain the zeal and principles which put you into that position, after you encounter the machinery designed to exhaust, exasperate, deter, and demoralize.

Finally watched Project Hail Mary. Easily one of my top 5 favourite films but itโ€™s still not nearly as good as the book โ€” I feel like the cut some pretty important scenes

I loved the book and Iโ€™m always fearful when a movie script is developed and a movie produced, so my relief after I saw the movie was immense. I too feel theyโ€™ve cut-out some bits, but the main thing that a book almost always takes my breath away with is fueling my imagination. A movie would (possibly) never nail that aspect.

I just watched it as well. It was fun. There were a number of things that I felt weren't explained well and broke my suspension of disbelief; I haven't read the book, but I found myself really curious whether the book takes the time to justify things more. Obviously, the movie has a lot of pressure to rush to the next "big moment".

If thereโ€™s one thing Andy Weir canโ€™t be critiqued on then itโ€™s not fully justifying all of the science. I think the film on the other hand can be hard to follow for someone who has neither read the book nor has a scientific background. Itโ€™s just hard to monologue about gravitational forces and relativistic speeds on screen.

Choice is definitely a problem. We notice it when we go to our cabin, about a 2 1/2 hour drive away. The grocery store there targets #foodnotesfollow for its local community. It is beef-centric and often boxed foods -- which is not our diet. Access -- or lack thereof -- is the worst kind of problem. So, I've been using this harness for a week and a half now, and what's interesting to me is that it brings a lot of things that I'd already built for myself in Pi. I built a little email system for agents to communicate, a memory system to do this "continual harness" thing of self-improvement. I know I'll move on to another harness in the future, so I'm trying to treat this like I do laptops now, and think about portability in the things I build or customize.

Now what should I do with this Windows 10, Windows 11, Ubuntu Linux 3 operating system on a hard drive partitioned in two? It would be better if I wait until Windows 10 deletes itself first. They didn't say that AI projects should be slowed down, I'm doing it in such a lousy way.

moved to berlin for my bachelors and it took some time to find footing. Im not the best student but I ended up getting lucky to snag a student assistant position by applying/presenting at a summer school (targeted more toward master/phd). then that became my thesis and it dragged quite a long time, bureacracy and supervision and such. But the results were interesting and i learned a ton along the way. Im really happy I yolo applied to that program
