Allegedly the brother of a long time friend is offering the "service". She says that the service will go down when the host is having outages, so the infra is likely local. Yes, code was never the bottleneck and of course now it never will be either. Figuring out semantic modeling of data that makes sense across business domains and figuring out the right way to use digitalization to modernize processes, and the change cultures as become possible through such work - that’s much more bottlenecks! Code is easy; people and process is hard!

Totally, I'm glad they're at least trying something new (for Apple). It just underscores the general failure of imagination vibes I get from everything in tech nowadays. Most of the industry is breathlessly chasing a 20th century "golden age of scifi" vision of AI. And Apple's over there diligently trying to improve upon other companies' products from five years ago. At least no one's talking about the metaverse anymore.
