Huge refactor today, moved from sync SQLite to Worker based, touched 88 files, pre-#AInotesfollow it would have taken a week or so, finished now in ~1:30h. And I wouldnโt have the confidence I have now that it went correct. It went well, though a bug or two might surface, weโll see.
SQLite is embedded in the main thread same as the HTTP server. I noticed some requests dropping and because the queries have become more complex I figured it has to do with SQLite blocking for too much time. Moving it to a Worker makes the DB asynchronous and bypass this problem.
I finished Rejection by Tony Tulathimutte and now I'm struggling to take any other book seriously. I need a pallet cleanser or something before I can move on
Hello! Is anyone else trying local AI? Im dont know what im doing but lately ive been trying "Llama 3,2 3b instruct q5km" on my phone and its been surprisingly good. #ainotesfollow
i think the best you can get right now is qwen 3.8 27B. youre gonna need 24 gigs of some fast memory though, i heard theres decent quantizations that can also make it run on 16. im quite excited about open/local models, but theres big investment overhead with the prices right now
You might be able to try out colibri, its quite good and the models are a bit better. I am unable to connect any of the cli agents to do things with it though, probably due to context limits, but try it out. OlMoe is the lightest

Congratulations! Care to share how the road was up to that point?

moved to berlin for my bachelors and it took some time to find footing. Im not the best student but I ended up getting lucky to snag a student assistant position by applying/presenting at a summer school (targeted more toward master/phd). then that became my thesis and it dragged quite a long time, bureacracy and supervision and such. But the results were interesting and i learned a ton along the way. Im really happy I yolo applied to that program
hey creator, this place is nice, posts look organic and the no javascript, I love it, with that said @stagasprofilefollowcreative technologist
creator of textlog have you consider NOT opening the API? and have a 1 way to come here and enjoy it? the rationale being that API also opens the door to the slopai?

creator of textlog, the emote you can set as mood in your profile, what limits does it have? I was trying to use the scissors emoji ( โ๏ธ ), but it wouldn't let me
I've heard it said that every moment you realize your mind has been wandering is a moment of clarity. So uhhh.... a moment of clarity every 15 seconds sounds pretty good
I'm in a similar spot. I haven't maintained a regular practice since I had kids.
I can observe the absence of the benefits I got from my practice, too. I'm more reactive and less focused in general. I think that my practice gave me the tools I need to stay present with my daughters, though, so I'm grateful for having retained that.
My new favorite #linuxnotesfollow little script:
echo freeze > /sys/power/state
Quickly suspends the laptop until I press the power button again for 1 second. This eliminates a miniscule (but still annoying) motherboard noise that was leaking to my speakers whenever I needed to take a #PowerNapnotesfollow. #Autismnotesfollow sensitivitiesโฆ
