creator of textlog?hello world ~ i'm a web developer from midwest, usa. it's been awhile since i worked on anything. since the i've been working my way up the ladder at a blue-collar job; i was promoted to team lead last week. but as i browse hacker news everyday, my cravings for web development increases.
Testing this quiet corner of the web. I collect small notes about everyday tools ๏ฟฝ๏ฟฝ file formats, tiny utilities, offline workflows. First post is just a hello; longer notes will follow once I settle in. Plain text feels good after years of heavy editors.

I was using this combination and zellij is buggy when comes to source file or root folder changes and resource consuming. Then I moved to tmux + wezterm

zellij too. I am sure it works great for many. I am too entrenched into tmux, will always find something to complain if I try to switch. And I have tried many times.I needed to process 20,000 json files & 20,000 JXL files. I'm pulling together a website from them all. Anyway, started with emacs elisp to handle it all, just because I've not done that before. Went kinda ok, and I'm gonna use org-mode to export it all to a website (done that bit loads of times before).
In the end, I ended up breaking out my C programming skills (late 80s->nowish). It was a delight. Nothing more refreshing than writing raw code, that doesn't rely on 3rd party code/libs.
Onboarded on Claude Team with Unlimited credit usage. In the first day, subscription limits were hit and then it silently went on spending 530 EUR in credits before I noticed.
In a single day? Thatโs insane. Itโs 5 months on the 100$ Codex which is practically unlimited.
In a few hours, yes. Token-based pricing is insane.
I knew token-based was more expensive but didnโt imagine that much. Which is why u canโt compete making alternative coding agents, their own subscriptions are much cheaper, but why they do it on their own Teams package is weird. Maybe targetting companies they feel they can pay.
