We did a poll &2326, the majority wanted something “limited” which is what we did, and the “no” crowd was also really big, while the “yes” crowd were the fewest. Still not to be ignored, which is why the posts dates are detailed (relative age & m/y) on hover after they age a couple of days iirc. So you get context when you need to, but not noise when you don’t.

Didn’t mean to come across negatively, only stating the impact it has had on me. I am only one amongst many, right? If the consensus of the majority is that it works well, then I would consider it a success.

The thing is, there is more noise now than it was when timestamps were around: polls, &s, hide text/blurs, details/summaries. I may be missing some. So, while aiming for less noise, more have truly been introduced.
