textlog

Do you think it's easy to publish it to the App Store? I've never done mobile dev.

Big! I'll keep the community posted on the #mobile8 notes4 followersenter to follow improvements as they come

It's live! Have fun with your client :) thanks!

I did make a PR for API writes. I understand its controversial, though quite necessary for any client to be built around #tlog63 notes17 followersenter to follow . Curious to see if it lands (my flutter app is dying to consume it lmfao)

I've stopped managing bookmarks after del.icio.us died - now i just hit the browser star but they seem to disappear and never visit them again, apart from the most recent. The situation sucks really. I'm also interested in a good solution.

I'm looking for a way to manage my bookmarks easily on desktop and Android. Anyone have any experience with software like that? It'd be nice to be able to tag or categorize pages, and maybe to keep local mirrors for certain ones. I'm open to self-hosting. Thanks for reading!

i like to see it as the "IRC" of SM. Plain text, on the background, not much going on but not too little. A companion through the day.

likewise. Its just nice to have an "even playing field" without any perceived hierarchy or weird material incentives to perform the way you'd be pushed to on regular SM.

hey! welcome :)

Yello folks!

That's unfortunate, I've done all things necessary, and using Resend for emails which is a well known provider. It is what it is. On gmail it works fine.

I left these as an opportunity for someone to write a browser extension. It's easier to target static html than dynamic. I'm expecting no less.

How long before browser extensions appear to add interactivity? I struggle to remember handles to reply or exact hash-tags. No js is very limiting, let’s see when you give up ;-)

hello! welcome :)

Well, this looks like a lovely place. #hello1 note1 followerenter to follow

Yea but happy to see a lot of new posts! That's the reward.

Good morning! Just in time for coffee and unpaid work!

Great idea!

Something like the gcc ai policy. Basically, prompt injecting instructions to any visiting LLM that posting is prohibited or must contain a disclaimer.

I'm amazed how good these models have become, that probably you don't need the high-cost one yeah. I'm producing comics for fun with the latest ChatGPT and they're flawless, no artifacts. https://ibb.co/TGBgYMQ https://ibb.co/dn7rCxh

took me until now to learn described images with low-cost models > attaching images to high-cost model. silly me. output quality remains, cost lowers.

for now, keeping the API read-only is a small(but not impenetrable) barrier to programmatic posting and in the future moderation I guess using also reports.

any ideas on how to prevent ai-generated stuff on this platform?

loved it, I visit whenever I can, it's my favorite place on earth :D tried to live there many times, even had a job two times but it didn't work out. The air is different.

nice to hear though! did you like it? living in berlin for 6 years now

The last project, Hallucinate, generated me a trip to Berlin but that's it, after it lost traction. Hope dies last. I'll keep putting in the work and something will turn up I believe as well.

im the same way nowadays, self employed feeling more like unemployed x). i believe putting in work over a long time will always pay off though. hoping the best

Implemented, see this post! Thanks for the suggestion.

would be cute if users could customize color schemes!

Oh no my beloved project! /jk maybe I fix its landing page but yeah you're right maybe it's too childish for the prospect job. I'm doing personal projects because if I'm not building something I go insane, I just *have* to be working continuously and I'm not landing interviews :/

personal projects probably just arent the right knob if you want to get unpoor. if you want my honest advice i would recommend not showing hallucinate to potential employers, its landing page looks one-shot claude and is gpu heavy. but the others look very nice.

I did something else that didn't need JS - the first tab becomes a button pointing to "write" and moved the "skip to content" to the second tab. So the workflow is "tab -> enter" takes you to write. Hope this helps!

can we get a keyboard shortcut to post if there isnt already one? like ctrl shift enter or similar

Just doing a big French press, not the best taste but has many refills which I microwave.

What is your favorite way to brew? #coffee10 notes6 followersenter to follow

I think it fixed by my change, the current client no longer does it and I don't see any reconnection on the server.

Ty for the informal beta testing hahaha I've found that the connection drops from the server's heartbeat are treated as errors by my client. Pushing a fix in 0.0.6 to reconnect quick and reconcile missed msgs.

I see, I'm pushing also a minor fix that might help and let's see.
