Devs! Drop your so we can follow each other! Love to see the projects you’re working on. Mine: —

Gave up on github after the acquisition. Very glad I did, given the unsurprising decline since then.

And what do you use now?

Some gitlab, some codeberg. More recently the latter as gitlab have an annoying tendency to mess with their UI for no discernible reason.

I actually disagree. This guy has been very good at performing The Good Guy for a very long time, but there have been signs all along.

Well said. My post was glib. More correctly, they are multipliers. Same goes for Musk. "Musk’s ex-wife Justine, whom he married in 2000 and divorced in 2008, says the man the world began to see in 2020 was the one she’d always known." -slate.com

This is a pretty neat site. I remember having vague ideas about something somewhat close to this but doing nothing with them.

replied to:

What's your main one? I use Substack Notes a bit these days. I was a big Twitter user (and used to work there) years ago, but stopped using it in 2023.

I really love the feeling of a new social network app! Takes me back to high school when I first used facebook. Somehow makes it easy to share things.

I'm looking for a way to manage my bookmarks easily on desktop and Android. Anyone have any experience with software like that? It'd be nice to be able to tag or categorize pages, and maybe to keep local mirrors for certain ones. I'm open to self-hosting. Thanks for reading!

replied to:

I've stopped managing bookmarks after del.icio.us died - now i just hit the browser star but they seem to disappear and never visit them again, apart from the most recent. The situation sucks really. I'm also interested in a good solution.

Just get rid of it. Life is way better without phones. I haven't had a phone for five years.

replied to:

I am curious how does that work for you. You should write a post about it and share.

Yes 🙌 the authoring box first thing. Before I get distracted. Heck, make writing something down how I get distracted from reading others' posts.

I truly love the experience of using apps with rich, deeply interactive, beautifully animated, gorgeous user interfaces. Then I see a beautiful text-based interface and something about it feels so natural, so inevitable, so perfectly clear, and I'm instantly captivated by its simplicity and clarity. Hypertext is fascinating.
