there are reasons to procrastinate. sometimes you are not ready for a task and it has to ripen on the back of your had. sometimes you don't have structure and are not organised. sometimes you might be overwhelmed by too many tasks.
make a schedule and only try to get one or two things done per day. productivity is not about getting more done for the sake of it. it's about getting to what is important for you.
"how to use our time properly. i need to improve my productivity." Why do you need to improve your productivity? is capitalism not getting enough from you? as you get old you will start regretting the time when you went the extra mile to burnout yourself so someone else can be rich... money will never give you back healt... Personally, I think I found good framework/vocabulary to help with meditation in some discussion by Jiddu Krishnamurti. Here is one in which he works it out with kids www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Yv0BKtgqpQYouTubeJ. Krishnamurti - Rishi Valley 1978 - School Discussion (Students) 3 - Can you... There was a short, to the point lecture where he basically walks you through observing thought, which profoundly changed how I approach meditation but I can't find it for the life of me!
Choice is definitely a problem. We notice it when we go to our cabin, about a 2 1/2 hour drive away. The grocery store there targets #foodnotesfollow for its local community. It is beef-centric and often boxed foods -- which is not our diet. Access -- or lack thereof -- is the worst kind of problem. One nice thing about Open Source (at least for me) is different people doing the same thing in different ways and one of those happen to suit my taste perfectly. And in many cases, I won't be able to come with it myself even with Super Intelligence.

Evgeny Morozov has pointed out that using ai through chat interfaces is based on an individualised and privatised model, which (heavily paraphrased) is inherently anti-social. With an extra layer now of people making small personalised tools, do bigger things still need teams of people who know what theyโ€™re doing? FWIW Iโ€™d like to see more sharing of vibe coded tools instead of everyone making their own more less the same ones. Mine are here: pauladams.neocities.org

I don't think so. I have been using more open source software than ever before. You may argue that with LLMs I have the power to make my own stack of things, but this doesn't eliminate that I still need knowledge to properly steer an LLM to create something worthwhile. If I have no knowledge of what I intend to build, the best thing the LLM will generate is a half-assed copy of something that already exists. Which is what we have been drowning in the past couple of years.
profilefollowI am just a grain of sand on your beach. www.gruntsoft.comcontinued:
AI can be a superpower in the hands of someone knowledgeable. That makes the people aspect of open source more important, not less. If you offload your curiosity and desire to learn to AI, you will be a slave to it's limitations instead of being a master of its capabilities.
๐Ÿฆ›profilefollowStrictly no LLMs. No exceptions.replied toprofilefollowOld school metallian, hobbyist developer writing things mostly in Rustโ€ฆmostly:
Of course not. I think it is much more relevant to ask "Is closed source dead?". Anyone can now replace a proprietary program with a vibeslopped alternative which might suit them just as well. It will have the same level of trust (ie. none) and none of the other drawbacks.

That's so funny, I've never seen anyone get into it by this quote alone, he's the antagonist of the game The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind. The quote is even better when you hear it in context, but don't spoil the experience, you ought to play the game and hear it for yourself. What do you normally play?
